Since bees are an integral part of most ecosystems and creatures I actually know very little about, I decided to visit Oakdale Bees in Berkshire (UK) to find out more about the process of bee-keeping.
The apiary is set in four acres of wild meadow fields and was founded in 2015 by owner, Elisabeth Barton, who has fulfilled a lifelong passion to care and work with bees. They also offer some fantastic workshops on site, including candle making and an introduction to bee-keeping. You can find out more here
Thank you to Elisabeth and her assistant, Amy, for bee-ing so welcoming.
